The bees have landed at Greiner

Bees are much more important to our planet than one might think. The dramatic decline in the world’s bee population requires its urgent protection. That is why we at Greiner decided to give bees a home at our headquarters in Upper Austria.

Bees are essential for our global ecosystem – as pollinators they ensure biodiversity and food security. That is why a number of ten beehives moved into the Greiner Campus in April. The beekeeper Florian Peterstorfer looks after the beehives on campus and ensures that the sweet honey can soon be tasted. The bee products are much more than just sweets: royal jelly is just as beneficial to human health as propolis, which serves as a natural antibiotic. We hope to soon be able to provide training for our employees on the importance of bees for our planet and the health effects of their products.

"If the bees disappeared off the face of the Earth, man would only have four years left to live. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man."

To highlight the importance of bees for our global ecosystem, the United Nations have designated May 20 as World Bee Day.
