Greiner Climate Ambassadors – Launch of our internal training program
How can we become a more sustainable company? We see the further training of our employees as an important step towards more sustainability – which is why we have launched the Greiner Climate Ambassador Program.
Over the next ten months, 15 participants in the Climate Ambassador Program will learn the basics necessary to understand the current climate crisis through lectures, workshops and excursions. They will question Greiner’s current way of working and provide impetus for change. From the numerous applications for the program, five people each from Greiner Bio-One, Greiner Packaging and NEVEON were selected to be trained as Climate Ambassadors.

The goal of the Climate Ambassador program is to create a company-wide sustainability culture to enable the transition to a climate-neutral and circular company. To achieve this, it takes every single employee at Greiner.
"There are many one-way packaging products made in our plants. But I recognized that there is a movement at Greiner which shows a huge interest to close the loop for a circular economy."
The program was devised by Isabella Melbinger, Sustainability Manager at Greiner. “The Climate Ambassador Program is designed to connect colleagues from all around the world for one common mission: Learn, exchange, and develop – all with the idea in mind to start a transformation process and create awareness for the topic of sustainability,” says Isabella Melbinger. The participants of the Climate Ambassador Program 2022/23 come from Austria, Germany, Romania, Brazil, the Czech Republic, Serbia, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the US.
